Story & Practice

How she came to this work

Michelle’s work is shaped by years inside organizations — not just consulting from the outside. She has sat in the staff meetings, navigated messy leadership transitions, held space for hurt teams, and felt the weight of “business as usual” when something deeper was clearly needed.

Over time, she saw a pattern: organizations were sprinting toward deliverables and diversity statements while skipping the hard work of repair. So she began building tools that help people pause, tell the truth, and choose a different way forward.

Today, her work is anchored in the G.R.A.C.E. framework — Grace, Reflection, Accountability, Courage, and Equity — a practical, human-centered approach to equity and conflict that leaders can actually use in real time.

How she works

More than training. Real repair.

Michelle is not interested in performative DEI work or one-off “feel good” sessions. Her work is about depth, clarity, and sustained change. That means:

  • Telling the truth about what is actually happening in your organization.
  • Building capacity for leaders and teams to sit in discomfort without shutting down.
  • Pairing reflection with action, so every insight has a corresponding step.
  • Centering repair, not just compliance, policy, or optics.

Who she serves

Leaders inside real organizations, not hypotheticals.

Michelle works with:

  • Nonprofit and public sector leaders navigating conflict, complaints, or culture fractures.
  • Equity and HR teams who need more than policy — they need practice, language, and tools.
  • Supervisors and managers who want to lead with both clarity and care.
  • Organizations ready to move beyond statements into accountable, sustainable change.
Books & learning hubs

Touchpoints with her work.

Michelle’s thinking and practice show up across three core books: Trust the Process, GRACE AT WORK®, and GRACE AT WORK®. These texts are designed to be used in real organizations — in leadership retreats, equity cohorts, book clubs, supervision, and team learning spaces.

Her leadership and culture work is extended through the GRACE AT WORK® Learning Hub, a digital space for leaders who want to move from theory to practice with guided tools, modules, and resources.

Keynotes & Signature Talks

Bring the work to your conference, retreat, or all-staff.

In addition to facilitation and long-term consulting, Dr. Majors offers keynotes and featured talks that bring GRACE AT WORK® and organizational healing to larger rooms. Her speaking blends real stories, practical tools, and a grounded honesty that resonates with leaders, staff, and boards alike.

Organizations invite Michelle to speak at:

  • All-staff gatherings and annual retreats.
  • Leadership summits, manager retreats, and internal conferences.
  • Equity, justice, or DEI launch days and “state of the culture” conversations.
  • Sector-wide conferences for nonprofits, philanthropy, and public agencies.

Sample keynote themes include:

  • Leading Through Conflict: Turning tension into a catalyst for trust and repair.
  • GRACE AT WORK® : Moving beyond performative DEI into everyday courage, accountability, and repair.
  • Rest, Boundaries, and Leadership: What it means to lead without abandoning yourself or your values.
  • When Conflict is About Race, Power, and History: Naming the deeper story so real resolution is possible.

Keynotes can be customized for your audience and integrated with follow-up sessions, leadership labs, or licensed digital learning so the conversation doesn’t end when the event does.
